A limited number will be built in twenty copies and that we will see a preview at the Geneva Motor Show. With all its load of extreme performance and technological solutions, the Pagani Huayra BC continues straight in the line of maximum exclusivity sought by Horacio House. A “special” of special significance for the Argentine owner, who dedicated it to his friend Benny Caiola, Italian-American collector who died in 2010, and the first client in the history of the small manufacturer of San Cesario sul Panaro.
Designed for the track. Numerous technical specificities of this BC (the only body panel in common with the Huayra is the roof), many of which will return on next generation cars: in line with the spirit of the ancestors Zonda R and Zonda Cinque, this version looks specifically for use on the track, and it does so by rejecting any contamination “hybrid”, which also won heavy names like Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche. The road of Pagani pointing instead to the extreme lightness.
Over 750 hp (but let’s also 800)
Updates, however, have also affected the engine: the 6.0 V12 biturbo AMG-Mercedes (as the standard version delivers 730 hp), here exceeds 750. Be noted that in the data sheet power precisely in kW appears: 588 , that is to say 800 hp rounds. Unit, comply with the Euro 6, it is combined with a drainage system even lighter and “generous” in terms of decibels disbursed.
The new exchange All new instead the exchange
for Huayra BC was chosen a new robotised seven-speed developed by Xtrac, equipped with electrohydraulic actuators and synchronizers in carbon fiber, solutions that make it more rapid than that of standard Huayra. Magazine also the management of the clutch, to control the increased torque delivered by the twelve-cylinder.
and the differential. Also on the floor of the transfer note is the presence of a new electronically controlled limited slip differential: total, says Pagani, the weight of the entire transmission (transversely mounted for considerations related to the center of gravity and inertia) is 40% lower than today a double-clutch gearbox.
Suspensions in HiForg
Sought solutions on the front suspension, which adopted a new material: the HiForg, this is the trade name, is an aviation ancestry material consisting essentially in an aluminum alloy from the particular mechanical strength. Thanks to its use, the suspension of BC are lighter by 25% compared to those of the Huayra.
Brembo carbon-ceramic. The braking system is made from a carbon-ceramic Brembo calipers manufactured by adopting a new technique that makes it possible to reduce unsprung weight. The same grippers are also stiffer, and provide greater resistance to high mechanical stress of the use on the track. Also new is the Esp developed by Bosch, which in this application adds to the Comfort and Sport mode the unreleased track.
Running shoes. The Huayra BC stocking Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires 255 / 30ZR20 and 355 / 25ZR21, front and rear respectively. Also in this case we are in the presence of a component “bespoke”: Pirelli has specific polymers employed for blends of these rubbers, able to offer a better grip profile, and especially has developed a new structure that makes the tires lighter than 3%. Upon request are also available Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R, approved for use only on the track and able to generate lateral accelerations up to 2G.
