2018 Boite Automatique Peugeot 308 Gti

2018 Peugeot 308 GTi Facelift Review, Price, Interior, Redesign – Like its matrix, the restyled version of the 308 GTi has evolved only smoothly, bringing only slight touches to its front face, a new body tint for its original delivered ” free cut ” and a more important technological content. Technically identical, the compact sport, always as effective, did not really need to update in this area to repel the attacks of its competitors. At least it is the strategy that has been adopted.

2018 Peugeot 308 GTi Exterior Changes

At the restyling of the Peugeot 308, the most convincing stylistic element was the integration of the lion into the more vertical grille. Except that the high finishes and in particular the GTi already had this specificity. That is to say, if the restyling is all the more discreet about this sport. Only the hue of the grid, now black, makes it possible to differentiate it. Just like the three-part shield, now wider. Note also that now, for the amateurs, the delivered free cut is available in a blue duo Magnetic and Black (only red and black before).

2018 Peugeot 308 GTi Interior & Features

On board, the cockpit also plays the continuity. No changes have been made, except for a new control screen, adopting the capacitive technology. For the rest, we find the interior elegantly drawn and well constructed of the compact Sochalienne. Here a more enveloping sports seating, a more opulent finish with red stitching and a small wheel with a thick rim flanked by a GTi crest, as if to recall the sporting value of the beast.

Equipment level, the 2018 Peugeot 308 GTi recovers a battery of driving aid étrennées by its big Brother the 3008 as the automated Park Assist system. The support for keeping in line is now active and, coupled with the blind spot detector, is able to put you back in the right way in case of a discrepancy. Connectivity is also modernized with a system now compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

2018 Peugeot 308 GTi Engine & Chassis

A sport of the quenching of a 308 GTi rubs against equally sharpened rivals. And yet, at this restyling, no technical changes have been made. Thus, the small 1.6 turbos developing 270 hp (300 nm), combined with a manual 6-speed gearbox and a limited slip differential torso, is found. On the performance side, it is also the status quo (6 seconds on the 0 to 100 km/h and 250 km/h at peak speed). Fans of power would plague hers, limited in view of what some competitors offer (300 hp for the Seat Leon Cupra, 320 hp for the new Honda Civic Type R and even 350 hp for the RS focus).

But the 2018 308 GTi keeps it a big asset: its mass. With only 1280 kg on the scale, it is much lighter than all these competitors. A lightweight that allows the engine to express itself freely, to contain the consumptions (and thus the amount of the Malus, at only 410 euros) and to offer a very first-order road behavior.

The 2018 Peugeot 308 GTi remains a hell of a machine to carry out. Very agile, it is served by a catchy front train and a direct and precise direction. Well supported by the differential, its motor skills are never taken into default and allow to obtain ideal trajectories at the exit of the curve. The well-studied stage of its gearbox (whose handling is a little spoiled by the long deflections) also allows taking advantage of the resources of 1.6. To finish the dynamic balance, the braking (discs of 380 mm!) is both powerful and enduring. However, the 308 GTi maintains a great versatility, with a soft and progressive motor as early as 1500 rpm and a preserved comfort despite firm cushioning

2018 Peugeot 308 GTi Prices

In the catalog, the 2018 Peugeot 308 GTI of the CRU 2017 is displayed at €38,700, which is €1000 more than before. A rate increase justified by a complete technological equipment. It’s designated rival, the Volkswagen Golf GTI performance, certainly less powerful starts at 37,140 euros but suffered a heavy penalty of almost €1400. And what about the Honda Civic Type R, which, if displayed at a close rate (€38,910), sees his career with us compromised by a huge penalty of more than €6000! The Seat Leon Cupra, in addition to being more powerful and proposed in a very wide range (coupe, 5 doors, break, full or no transmission, manual and Automatic box) is available against €35,000 (Malus of €2500). Finally, the future Megane R. S is scheduled for 2018 and is slow to point the end of its grille.

2018 Peugeot 5008 Reviews

2018 Peugeot 5008 SUV Price and Release Date

Peugeot 5008 is dead, long live the new 2018 Peugeot 5008! After a long but rather quiet career, the compact MPV hit the lion becomes SUV. But no matter what SUV, since it hosts up to 7 passengers and their luggage. Our testing of this “SUVspace” on the roads of the Portugal.

2018 Peugeot 5008 Redesign

This second vintage of Peugeot 5008 is quite a minivan or a traditional SUV. Let’s see some kind of hybrid road, which would bring together the best of the two categories. Less balanced than the 3008, the line offers despite all of a certain character. Plunging hood, aggressive optical, sculpted flanks… The whole no lack of cachet. For obvious reasons of optimization of interior space, the stern turns quite massive but still elegant enough. Aluminum type skirts and body gross plastic protections complete the small side adventure that please both the customer. Remains that the thickness of the amounts penalizes as often the visibility to the rear and means to invest in a camera back (from the series from the finish look).

If the 2018 Peugeot 5008 of the second generation evolves stylistically, it takes also overweight. No less than 11 cm extra length (4.64 m) compared to the former opus! A beautiful baby who comes into head-on competition with the Nissan X-Trail and Skoda Kodiaq.

2018 Peugeot 5008 Interior

The strong point of this second generation of Peugeot 5008, is its interior. Starting with the design of the dashboard. This famous i-cockpit facing the driver is a success. If the inspiration is clearly to look on the side of the Germans, the result is the height. The finish is also very neat, that the distinction becomes more and more difficult with the Germanic productions.

The other shock argument, it is habitability. Really generous on the first two rows of seats. It has a flat floor, individual seats, reclining and sliding. However, no miracle to wait in the third row. Standard on the french market, the folding seats (that is hidden under the floor) are indeed intended to children.

Finally, generous trunk volume completes this very flattering picture. The low loading sill, its regular contours and its large capacity (780 liters in configuration 5 places) should make people jealous.

Five finishes are available on the Peugeot 5008. From the entrance of the Access range, we find the cruise control/speed limiter, the steering wheel leather, manual air conditioning, MP3/Bluetooth radio with USB connector… Our Allure version offers a much richer endowment because it has alloy wheels from 18 inches, of aid to the front/rear parking with the camera back, the system of navigation, the pack Safety Plus (emergency…) and many more facilities.

On The Road

The modular platform (EMP2) of the Peugeot 5008 is shared among other things with the 3008. Like its little brother, the new 5008 is lighter than the old model (70 kg earned on our version), which has the consequence of improving the liveliness of the craft. Direct management, the excellent compromise comfort effective shock absorbers and the braking force are greatly involved in driving pleasure. 2018 Peugeot 5008 led something close as a compact sedan which the center of gravity would be higher. The only reservation concerns the lateral tire adhesion to low rolling resistance, whose grip remains to improve in large curves attacked at a brisk pace.

It should be noted that an another pneumatic monte is available if you opt for the Grip Control (410 euros on our version) option which improves grip on wet, icy, or fat ground capabilities.

No less than six versions are available at launch: two in engine gasoline of 130 or 165 horses and four Diesel, 100, 120, 150 and 180 HP. We set our sights on version 2.0 150 ch BlueHDi suited to use “large families”.

Somewhat sound cold and on the intermediaries, this vigorous block allows to make the most of the qualities of the chassis. Except for a slightly late arrival of maximum torque (370 Nm at 2,000 rpm), this 2 liters contains strong and allows energetic overruns, even on roads in high relief. We also appreciate the guidance firm and precise control of the box, which would almost forget the absence of automatic control on this variation of 150 hp.

In the face of the clock, Peugeot announced an excellent time of 9.6 seconds to ship the 0 to 100 km/h. Consumption set to 6 liters per 100 km on our onboard computer is also a nice surprise on our hilly course.

2018 Peugeot 5008 Prices

What a success that this 2018 Peugeot 5008. If the French firm has long groped before investing the SUV segment, it is clear that the model has all chances to become a bestseller. Its dynamic line, its generous roominess and his convincing road performances should make life difficult in the Nissan X-Trail and Skoda Kodiaq yet kneaded qualities.

The Peugeot 5008 range starts at 26 400 euros to version 1.2 petrol 130 ch Allure, and it takes 36 950 euros for our 2.0 Diesel 150 chin finish look. It’s cheaper than a Skoda Kodiaq of motorization and equivalent finishing (38 450 euros in 2.0 TDI 150 Style), but the latter is, admittedly, equipped with a dual-clutch series box.
